The purpose of this position is to develop supported employment opportunities in the community and at volunteer sites for participants with developmental disabilities in our supported employment program. The position may perform some employment training, or assist with case management, as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university
or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have the ability to satisfy a background check and comply with the company's drug free workplace policy.
Must possess a good driving record, provide proof of current driver’s license and insurance.
Must secure and maintain First aid and CPR certification within 30 days.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Knowledge of individuals, their employment/service plans, and support needs.
Assists in overall delivery of services to designated individuals in caseload by contributing to employment plans, developing services that are individualized and ensuring opportunities are created that result in good job matches and help people in the program to better attain their goals.
Identifies and discusses with the employment specialist or manager changes that may be needed in an individual’s employment service plan. May occasionally participate in meetings with county DVR, DDD, and Community Protection program for case updates, plan review, and outcomes.
Job development services including creating, developing, and securing jobs in the community through relationships with local employers and by face to face contact, telephone and networking.
Maintains awareness of job market, employers’ needs and their expectations. Attend/participate in job fairs and resource fairs.
Provides employment training for initial placements and ongoing employment training as needed.
On-the-job supports at volunteer and paid job sites where necessary.
Perform and master job tasks in preparation for providing participant with on-the-job training.
Assist participants in learning job tasks, adapting to the workplace environment, and establishing normalized work routines, while maintaining a healthy, supportive relationship.
Maintain positive and respectful relationships and interactions with coworkers, individuals and employers, county, DDD, DVR, AFH, families/guardians, and STA/Para transit staff during service delivery.
Maintain an accurate record of services delivered, time worked, and mileage/expenses incurred.
Document data and notes to adequately show individual’s progress toward goals on employment/service plan.
Submit all documentation in a timely manner.
Provide transportation associated with each individual’s employment/service plan; ensure safe transport of individuals.
Attend and participate in scheduled staff meetings and complete required training.
May maintain staff schedules, run meetings, represent Compass at professional meetings/community events.
