The NCAC Instructor will supervise and/or provide instruction as necessary, in a classroom setting to community members to assist them in obtaining knowledge, as well as necessary coaching and employment training that will assist them in entering the workforce.

This is a relief position, filling in as needed.

About the position:

  • The English as a second language instructor conducts 8 week sessions teaching non-English or minimal English speaking students the basics of the English language. This helps develop basic communication skill providing better opportunities for individuals to impact their lives and potential career choices.
  • The classes are open to the public and are free of charge. A Pre and Post assessment is conducted to show progress.
  • Classes are conducted late afternoon to evenings and are flexible to instructor availability.


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of instructional experience.
  • Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Teacher Certification in Secondary Education as required in the State of Washington (OSPI) or Certificate to Teach a Foreign Language. CTE certification preferred. Current Washington State driver's license and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage are required.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required: Knowledge of GED, ABE, or F
